About Our Speaker for the August Meeting

With more than 36 years as a full-time artist, Stan has produced literally hundreds of paintings
documenting historical events, people and places. He researches his subject with attention to the
accuracy of the smallest detail. His work is in two Presidential Libraries. Commissioned by The
Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, his "U.S.S. Ronald Reagan" painting is now on permanent
display in the museum in Simi Valley, California. A 12 ft. x 120 ft. mural of the "History of the
Flying White House" will be on permanent display when their new Air Force One Pavilion opens
this fall. At the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library in Texas, his painting of the U.S.S.
George H.W. Bush, our nation's next aircraft carrier, is on permanent display. Three large fine
art murals are in the Palm Springs Air Museum; The "Tuskegee Airmen Mural", 12 ft. x 60 ft.,
"Dauntless at Midway" 12 ft. x 34 ft., and "Corsair on Approach", 19 ft. x 55 ft.

In 1975 Stan won 1st place in the Benedictine Art Awards, and in 1984 won 1st place in the
Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum's "Golden Age of Flight" art competition. Since the
mid-1980's NASA has commissioned him to paint works ranging from the space shuttle
Challenger to the SR71 Blackbird. Stan has also painted numerous works for Burt Rutan, the
cutting edge genius in aviation & space vehicle design. In May, 2000 Stan was honored with the
"R.G. Smith Award for Excellence in Naval Aviation Art" by the National Museum of Naval
Aviation in Pensacola, Florida.

His work encompasses portraits, landscapes, aviation and space, ships, cars and his new
collection of cat-related fine art paintings. Stan's art has been published in numerous books and
periodicals. His work is highly sought after by museums and private collectors.
