Major General Hal Vincent, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, served a total of 36 years in the
service, where he advanced from V-5 Seaman to Midshipman and from 2nd Lieutenant to Major
General, U. S. Marine Corps. He is listed in "Who' Who in the World", in "America", in
"California", and in "Men of Distinction".

Duty included Squadron, Group, and Wing Command plus top level Staff and War College
positions. He has flown 165 types of U.S. and foreign military aircraft with over 240 combat
missions in 8 types of aircraft. Fighter types flown include F86, F100, F102, F104, F106, F111,
FJ, F9, F3H, F4D, F2H, F3D, F3H, F4, F7U, F8U, F11, F-14, F-15, F-16, YF-17, and F-18.

As a test pilot, he served 3 years in the Flight Test Branch, Patuxent River, and two years at
VX-5. He is a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots since 1956 and a member of
the Golden Eagles since 1980. Flight testing included 49 aircraft models and included many new
aircraft as well as Navy Preliminary Evaluation(NPE) aircraft.

Major General Vincent is a graduate of all three Military Service Fighter Weapons Schools, the
Air Force Instructor Fighter Weapons School (F100), Navy Fleet Air Gunnery and Tactics
School (FJ), and Honorary Graduate of the Marine Corps Weapons Training Unit (F4).

As CG 2nd Marine Air Wing (460 A/C and 20 types), he flew all 20 types plus 4 types assigned
to MCAS Cherry Point. Additionally, he flew several test planes, Air Force planes, and his own
private airplane during his two year tour. He still is an active aviator after 58 years of great
flying.
